The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) has announced the full cast and creative crew for its much - awaited "Hamlet Hail to the Thief". Samuel Blenkin, recently involved in Noah Hawley's upcoming "Alien" series for FX and Bong Joon Ho's "Mickey 17", will play Hamlet.

Olivier nominee Paul Hilton, known for "Slow Horses" and "An Enemy of the People", will be Claudius and the Ghost. Claudia Harrison, who was nominated for a SAG award for her role as Princess Anne in "The Crown", will take on the part of Gertrude.

This new version of Shakespeare's well - known tragedy is a partnership between theater and music. Radiohead's frontman, Thom Yorke, has personally revised and arranged tracks from the band's 2003 album "Hail to the Thief". The production is set to offer a "feverish" live show, with a 20 - member group of musicians and actors performing the deconstructed album along with Shakespeare's text.

This 'Hamlet' is more than just a play for Blenkin, as he shares, "'Hamlet' contains many ghosts for me: its long lineage of performances, the speeches I learnt from it that got me into drama school, and its many different interpretations. I'm excited, terrified, and honoured to get the chance to perform this role in a unique production at both Factory International and the RSC: two dream venues that have shaped my desire to act."

The creative team behind this adaptation is nothing short of stellar, with Tony winner Christine Jones, known for her work on 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child', and Steven Hoggett co-directing. Their interpretation focuses on "Hamlet and Ophelia's awakening to the lies and corruption in Denmark, gradually revealed by ghosts and music," according to production notes. Jess Williams, an associate of Frantic Assembly, joins as choreographer.

The technical team is equally impressive, featuring scenography by AMP with Sadra Tehrani, arrangements by Justin Levine, music supervision by Tom Brady, sound design by Gareth Fry, projection design by Will Duke, lighting design by Jessica Hung Han Yun, and costume design by Lisa Duncan. Ayanna Thompson provides text consultancy and dramaturgy, with casting by Charlotte Sutton CDG for the RSC.

This co-production by Factory International, the RSC, and ATC Experience, with Nate Koch and Vivek J. Tiwary for TEG+, will premiere at Manchester’s Aviva Studios (April 27-May 18) before transferring to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon (June 4-28).
